Grupo de Xadrez do Porto, founded in 1940, has its rooms at Travessa das Almas 12 in central Porto. They're open for free play to members and visitors Monday to Friday from 16:00 to 19:00 and Saturday from 15:00 to 18:00, closed Sundays and holidays. Since April 2026 the club has run 3+2 blitz tournaments at 21:30 on the second and fourth Friday of each month, with a break from July to September.
